Congratulations Scott! He has been awarded the Community Service Award by American Institute of Architects Eastern New York chapter (AIAENY). The inaugural Community Service is part of AIAENY’s new Honor Awards program, recognizing contributions to education and community service.
Throughout his architectural career, Scott has been dedicated to improving communities and enhancing lives. He champions inclusivity, believing that every member of society deserves attention and care regardless of their circumstances. His diverse design portfolio includes rehabilitation centers, Head Start programs, and housing, all aimed at providing safe havens and supportive services for those in need. He is deeply committed to supporting those on the Autism spectrum and was the catalyst for the creation of the first-of-its-kind full-day preschool with integrative services and New York’s first apartment complex specifically designed for this population.
Scott is a community leader, spearheading initiatives like the Albany Riverfront Collaborative and advocating for positive change throughout Upstate New York. “Scott’s unwavering commitment to community service is exemplified through his work with the Albany Riverfront Collaborative (ARC),” jury comment. “His visionary leadership in reimagining I-787 to restore Albany’s connection to the river and each other demonstrates his dedication to healing the damages caused by past developments. Scott’s unique ability to balance leadership and servitude, ensuring that impacted individuals are truly heard, highlights his profound impact on the community.”
The recipients were honored at a ceremony held at The Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, NY, on June 18.
