On June 23, our design team joined Home Leasing and state and local officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony for Union Square Apartments in Downtown Rochester.
Located on Parcel 3 of the Inner Loop project, the four-story mixed-use project has retail and commercial spaces on the ground level with 72 studio, one, and two-bedroom residential units on levels two through four.
Each apartment has an open floor plan, fully equipped kitchen with energy star appliances, individually controlled heating and cooling systems, storage, internet, and cable access, as well as a private patio or balcony. Union Square also offers a community room, fitness center, on-site laundry, and is conveniently located near several bus stop and local attractions and amenities. Apartments will be affordable to households with a broad range of incomes. Twenty-one supportive apartments will be reserved for people facing homelessness. Trillium Health is also a tenant and will provide onsite support services.
The project received funding through New York State Homes and Community Renewal, the Governor’s Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative, and the New York State Office of Mental Health.
SWBR provided architectural and structural engineering design services for the project.
