Modernized John Walton Spencer School 16 Reopens

Our design team recently joined community members, along with school and local officials, to unveil the makeover of Rochester City School District’s John Walton Spencer School No. 16.

Originally built in 1910, School No. 16 had received several additions over the years, leaving the school a mishmash of design styles. Our design team modernized and expanded the facility, while preserving historic features and unifying the building’s look and flow.

“It is a vibrant, whimsical learning environment that will allow students to learn in a clean, calm, orderly learning environment,” said Carla Roberts, principal at School No. 16.

John Walton Spencer School No. 16 joins several other schools in the district that were given an overhaul as part of the Rochester City School District Modernization Program.
