A regional leader in education and life skills solutions, Mary Cariola Children’s Center serves hundreds of children and young adults each year through academic, residential, and community outreach programs. The 68 year-old agency has two campuses as well as six residential homes throughout Monroe County.
When it was clear that their Browncroft Boulevard group home in Rochester, NY could no longer meet the needs of the eight residents, SWBR was brought in to design a new facility in Penfield, NY. The new home, located at the corner of State and Jackson Roads in Penfield, has nine bedrooms within the 5,800 square feet of living space. It features a covered entrance large enough for vehicles to pass through to protect residents from the elements and provides a respite bedroom, allowing parents and guardians a reprieve from caregiving responsibilities.
