Congratulations to Principal Leticia Fornataro, AIA, for being selected as a Rochester Business Journal’s Women of Excellence honoree.
The annual event celebrates high-achieving women for their tremendous career accomplishments. The women are selected based on their professional experience, community involvement, leadership, and sustained commitment to mentoring.
Brazilian-born Leticia is a specialist in the design of senior living communities, with a particular focus on creating communities for active and independent residents. She is committed to designing homes where active seniors can thrive physical and emotionally. Her projects range from independent and assisted living homes to skilled nursing. Her clients include St. John’s Home, St. Ann’s Community, The Highlands of Pittsford, and Cloverwood Senior Living.
“Leticia has spent the past 15 years specializing in the design of senior living environments,” stated President Tom Gears, AIA. “Whether it is an independent, assisted living or skilled nursing setting, she is passionate about creating an environment that the residents enjoy; a home where they can thrive and continue to be active, social, and engaged to the fullest level of their independence.”
In addition to her design work, Leticia volunteers with several organizations. She is a Program Mentor for both Women in Architecture and Rochester Institute of Technology. She is the Board Chair at Kirkhaven Senior Community, on the Board of Directors for YWCA Rochester, and was elected to the firm’s Board of Directors in 2021.
A trusted advisor and mentor, Leticia led the development of the firm’s WForum with the goal of guiding more women into leadership roles and raising awareness of diversity.
The awards ceremony was held on May 24 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
