Dave Beinetti Named a Rochester Business Journal’s Icon Honors Award Winner

On December 5, Principal Dave Beinetti, AIA, was among 20 individuals who received a Rochester Business Journal Icon Honors Award for 2022. The awards recognize Rochester-area business leaders for their notable success and demonstration of strong leadership, both within and outside of their chosen field.

To be eligible for Icon Honors, honorees must have a long-standing commitment to the Rochester business community and significant professional accomplishments through innovation and leadership. Honorees must also be champions of their industries and demonstrate a sustained commitment to community service. Throughout his career, Dave has been dedicated to positively impacting the built environment, whether it be through his impressive design work or his dedication to community development and service.

Dave’s portfolio includes several high-profile innovative projects for corporate, industrial, and higher education clients. “I am proud to have led higher education projects that improve how students learn, corporate and workforce training projects that create jobs, municipal buildings that serve the public and keep people safe, and several laboratories for medical research that save lives,” says Dave.

He is passionate about sustainable design and has long worked to raise awareness of the importance of environmental stewardship – with a specific focus on businesses and individuals and the decisions they make daily that affect our environment. He has helped lead SWBR to embrace sustainability within its design work and culture and is a founding member of the Rochester Sustainability Collaborative.

Dave has participated in multiple professional and community organizations during his career, providing a substantial impact on the built environment. As a previous Board Chair for the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation, he worked to promote the city’s urban redevelopment. As a Board Member for the Monroe Community College Foundation, Dave is committed to raising scholarship money for students that otherwise might not have the opportunity to attend college.

“This year’s Icon Honors recipients are role models who have demonstrated strong leadership within and outside their chosen fields. Community involvement is a priority, and they are actively mentoring the next generation of leaders,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, senior group publisher of the Rochester Business Journal. “Their tremendous accomplishments make them the best of the best.”

The awards ceremony was held at the Genesee Valley Club in Rochester.
