Caitlin Ellis, AIA – Our Latest Licensed Architect
Requirements for this licensure include a minimum degree requirement of a bachelor’s degree in architecture and at least five years of work experience under a licensed architect. Caitlin completed seven New York State exams to receive her license and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech.
As a recently licensed architect and designer in our education studio, Caitlin Ellis, AIA assists with all phases of the design process, including helping to manage our internal design team and external consultants. She’s also responsible for producing drawing sets and graphics for client presentations, training and mentoring staff, and preparing forms for state agencies such as SED (New York State Education Department) and SHPO (State Historic Preservation Office), when required for a project.
Of her additional responsibilities, Caitlin says “Having a job in architecture can be like an apprenticeship. Each year you work, you get more adept at the tasks you’ve already been given and your Project Managers, Project Architects, and mentors start to introduce you to new responsibilities.”
