Wyoming County Court House
Situated in the historic monument district of Warsaw, NY, this 28,000 SF courthouse was designed to bridge the existing County Office and the new Public Safety Building. The courthouse contains courtrooms, hearing rooms, judicial chambers, and the district attorney and court clerk’s offices. The facility was designed in association with Ricci Associates of New York City. The building incorporates massing, roof form and window and masonry detailing typical to historic structures in the Village of Warsaw and surrounding counties. A domed rotunda serves as a common public entrance for both the new courthouse and the existing County Office Building, linking the two together. Another unique feature of the facility is the second story bridge connecting to the Public Safety Building/Jail’s existing Court Ready Area. The passageway ensures discreet and secure movement of prisoners within a monitored, secure corridor network. The arch-top windows of the courtrooms mimic the adjacent County Office Building’s existing courtroom but are equipped with security glazing. Wheelchair lifts have been built into the witness boxes to allow handicapped access for both witness and judge, if necessary.
