Visual Arts Building

The renovation of approximately 31,800 SF of existing space includes the addition of a new 3 story studio “wing” of approximately 4,800 SF as well as new studio and mechanical space above the existing Gallery of 2,400 SF.

Within the existing building, the renovation works “with” the current space to the fullest extent possible, enhancing the functionality of the studio, teaching, gallery and office spaces while providing new finishes through-out. Additionally, there are renovations to the architecturally and historically sensitive building exterior and the new additions are designed as extensions of the original building. The existing slate roof and windows have been restored and low profile skylights were added to the northeast side of the existing mansard roof that overlooks the Chester Arthur courtyard.
