Cornell University Rehab Agricultural Research Pilot Plant

For more than 125 years, Cornell AgriTech in Geneva has developed cutting-edge technologies essential to feeding the world and strengthening New York economies. From developing safe and nutritious foods to pioneering means to preserve the environment, AgriTech serves millions of New York consumers, agricultural producers, food businesses and farm families throughout the state.

In 2015, Cornell University and the State University Construction Fund hired SWBR to design the renovation of the 1960-constructed building, which was in immediate need of repair. Renovations include:

  • Replacement of major central equipment that provides utilities to the existing Food Research Lab building as well as the Pilot Plant
  • Gut renovation of the Food Research Pilot Plant, including replacement of all utilities, flooring, trench drains, and fenestration
  • Addition for Receiving and new entrance
  • Mezzanine renovation to include the suite of rooms that provide spaces for freezers that serve adjacent lab spaces
  • Exterior masonry repair
  • Handicap accessibility site improvements
  • Roof replacement
