Focus-Factory Manufacturing Facility

Harris is a premier supplier of secure radio communications products, systems and networks to military, government, commercial, defense and peacekeeping organizations worldwide. The company purchased a 563,000 SF building to consolidate their three local manufacturing sites into one, focusing their production.

SWBR provided the architectural, structural and interior design, and landscape architecture for the project. Our team worked closely with the client to provide a flexible design, streamlining their present manufacturing processes, while allowing for new products in the future with minimal additional investment. We renovated the facility to accomplish the efficient “focused-factory” manufacturing concept, complete with supporting offices, conference rooms, research and development labs, warehouse/distribution, and customer service including an observation area for customers to view their products being made. The open layout allows direct visual observation and encourages an integrated work environment.
