Evergreen Center
Five-story addition to increase services for marginalized and underserved community members.
Evergreen Health, a healthcare provider that serves marginalized community members in Buffalo, moved into the historic 1901-built Roanoke Building in 2006. As the agency expanded, it became clear that their building could no longer accommodate their needs. Rather than relocating to a larger site, taking them away from their clients, they decided to expand into their parking lot. The five-story addition added 33,000sf of program space including a flexible multipurpose space, medical clinic, prevention care, supportive programs, and office space; it doubled their capacity.
