Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic

New clinic consolidates medical specialties to better serve veterans.

The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Capital Asset Realignment for Enhanced Services (CARES) program recommended several construction projects to modernize the Canandaigua, NY facility to meet the evolving needs of veterans. The first phase focused on consolidating the outpatient clinic. The new clinic enhances veteran care and optimizes space use by bringing medical services and specialists into one building. Primary care is located at the front for convenience. Additional healthcare services include optometry, orthopedics, neurology, respiratory therapy, and cardiology. Located in historic Building 2 at the VA campus, some original architectural features were incorporated into the project while the rest of the building was modernized to support cutting-edge medical care to patients. The project is a joint venture team of SWBR and SmithGroup.
