Albany Riverfront Study

I-787 and the arterial connecting to Empire State Plaza are nearing the end of their life. This provides the ideal opportunity for the City of Albany, New York’s Capital, to reimagine its future. SWBR joined with other interested citizen groups to visualize what Albany could be if it reconnected its neighborhoods to each other as well as too its waterfront on the Hudson River.

The result revealed 93 acres of reclaimed land to create places for people to gather, live, work, and form communities. This enables the city to foster a sense of place that embraces the diversity of Albany, leading to an improved quality of life in the city.
