Construction Begins on DePaul True North Apartments in Rochester

On December 19, our design team joined DePaul and state and local officials to celebrate the start of construction for True North Apartments in Rochester.

The new $38 million development will create 70 apartments for low-income residents, including 35 units with supportive services for older adults, individuals, and families who have experienced homelessness. The project includes two new apartment buildings constructed on separate sites. On-site support services will include life skills training, health care education and assistance, and community reintegration activities.

The new wellness clinic to be built on a third site will be open to the community and will provide mental health and substance use counseling and recovery groups, medication-assisted treatment, and case management.

The project is a collaborative partnership with the Rochester Interfaith Development Corporation, FLACRA, and PCHO, which furthers the goals and objectives of the city’s Faith in Action initiative to develop affordable housing.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2026. SWBR is providing architectural, interior design, landscape architecture, and structural engineering for the project.
