Congratulations to Project Architect Jamie Bucci, AIA, for being named one of Rochester Business Journal’s 2024 Forty Under 40 honorees. The annual event recognizes individuals younger than 40 for their professional accomplishments, community service, and commitment to inspiring change.
These individuals are not only achieving success in their careers but giving back in meaningful ways to the Rochester community. “This year’s Forty Under 40 honorees are making their mark on their professions and on the community. Their accomplishments are impressive, and they understand that giving back is part of their mission,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/Rochester Business Journal.
Jamie, who joined SWBR in 2007, is a talented architect and thoughtful leader who has successfully led projects for a variety of market types. His notable, award-winning design portfolio includes the Wegman Family Science & Technology Center at McQuaid Jesuit High School, John Walton Spencer School 16, and Victor Central School District Capital Improvement Project. He was named one of Rochester Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Ignite Award Finalists, AIA Rochester’s 2019 Emerging Architect of the Year, and is a past recipient of the ENR – ACE Outstanding Mentor Award.
In addition to his successful design work, Jamie has volunteered with several organizations. He has been active in American Institute of Architects (AIA) Rochester for nearly a decade, first serving on the Board of Directors and now as President. Since 2010, he has been an active mentor with ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Mentor Program, dedicating his personal time to guiding and supporting high school students in their education and professional development. He has been a guest critic at Alfred State College, a United Way Day of Caring participant, a Habitat for Humanity volunteer, and a Product Runway participant, which benefits Center for Youth.
“Jamie is an incredible architect and project manager at SWBR,” said Principal Leticia Fornataro, AIA. “He exemplifies leadership, innovation, and dedication not only to the field of architecture, but through his active volunteer work in the community, mentoring the next generation of architects and making a meaningful impact on those around him.”
The awards ceremony will be held on November 12 at The Strong National Museum of Play.
