Based out of our Syracuse office, Sumaiya is responsible for design, production drawings, client meeting preparations, daylight modeling, and sustainability consulting on a variety of K12, higher education, and housing projects.
Sumaiya was drawn to architecture for its ability to shape the physical environment and influence communities. “My home in Dhaka, Bangladesh was located just a brief 10-minute stroll away from the renowned National Parliament House designed by Louis I Kahn. Witnessing firsthand the profound influence this iconic structure had on both the people and the city fascinated me.” She sees meaningful design as prioritizing the end user.
She has a Bachelor of Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology and a Master of Science in Architecture from Pennsylvania State University.
