The new senior community, designed to Passive House standards, aims to be fossil fuel free and achieve Net-Zero energy through PHIUS ZERO 2021. The building’s energy consumption is reduced through air source heat pumps, shared ERVs, shared heat-pump water heaters, and roof-mounted solar. The project prioritizes health and wellness through an anticipated LEED for Homes Silver certification, while emphasizing the use of low carbon materials.
