Hope on Main

Downtown acreage revitalized to provide affordable housing and community support programs.

The Hope on Main initiative by The Salvation Army of Buffalo aims to create an emergency family shelter, affordable and supportive housing units, and updated program facilities to increase family self-sufficiency. The proposal includes a seven-story an apartment building, a three-story emergency shelter, and two-story townhouses. Constructive conversations with neighbors and local organizations were conducted to ensure the project meets community needs and expectations. Existing buildings on The Salvation Army campus will be demolished to facilitate the project, while the administrative and program space in 960 Main Street will remain.
