On May 27, Project Architect Rob Simonetti and Landscape Architect Shirah Kasongo Cahill joined Jewish Senior Life and local representatives to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the Dining and Lifestyle Expansion at The Summit at Brighton.
The Lifestyle Expansion includes a patio that was designed to give residents the opportunity to connect with nature, dine, socialize, exercise, and relax. The new outdoor space integrates the pond with decks, trellises, seating, a fire pit, and a cooking space that includes a woodfired pizza oven. An exterior sound system was installed to allow for outdoor lecture series, happy hours, and even live music. All furniture incorporated into the design has been selected specifically for seniors and is ADA compliant to prioritize mobility, independence, and user comfort.
SWBR provided architecture and landscape architecture design services for the project.
“I grew up visiting family members and volunteering at the Jewish Home in Syracuse. It felt great to complete a project that will benefit this community!” said Landscape Architect Shirah Kasongo Cahill.
