Gateway Lofts

Located in Jamestown, NY, Gateway Lofts is a multi-family affordable housing complex unlike others, providing residents on-site services and support by community service organizations and non-profits. The project will utilize the undeveloped space at the Gateway Center, the former Chautauqua Hardware factory.

The 110-unit development will include a mix of one, two, and three bedroom apartments. It is intentionally located in close proximity to wrap around services such as health care, schools, youth programs, child-care, and government agencies, which will help residents overcome poverty, homelessness, mental health, and substance abuse issues. The project will incorporate energy efficiency and solar panels on the roof.

Once complete, Gateway Lofts will revitalize the neighborhood around Jamestown’s medical corridor, by redeveloping a riverfront property and adding to the Chadakoin Riverwalk. The project is a collaboration between Community Helping Hands (CHH), Southern Tier Environments for Living (STEL) and the YWCA in Jamestown, NY. SWBR is providing architectural and structural engineering design services for the project.
