Hover Green House Homes Recognized as Skilled Nursing Leader

The Katherine and Charles Hover Green House Homes has been awarded Second Place in the Skilled Nursing/Post-Acute Care category for the Senior Housing News (SHN) Architecture & Design Awards.

Opened in September 2019, Hover Green House Homes consists of four skilled nursing Green House® homes on Hover Senior Living’s Independent and Assisted Living campus in Longmont, Colorado. The project compliments Hover’s existing senior living options and embraces their mission to empower seniors to live the life they choose by offering innovative, affordable, and dignified choices in housing and services. SWBR worked closely with Hover and The Green House Project® to bring these homes to the Hover campus.

“The annual SHN Architecture & Design Awards continue to attract the most exciting projects in senior housing from across the U.S. and around the world,” said George Yedinak, founder of Senior Housing News. “Senior living owners, operators and developers are working with world-class architects and designers to create the next generation of senior living.”

Communities across the country and globe submitted new construction and renovation projects, vying for top honors across nine categories this year: Affordable, Assisted Living, Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Hospice, Independent Living, International, Renovation / Repositioning, Skilled Nursing / Post-Acute Care and Standalone Memory Care.

A panel of industry experts judged the projects, evaluating nominees based on design and aesthetic criteria. Not only did judges analyze design elements such as color, light and landscape architecture, they also considered community functionality by analyzing key features that are critical to property type, such as universal design techniques.
