DePaul Upper Falls Square Apartments won the 2019 Reshaping Rochester Award for Urban Innovation and Activism by the Community Design Center of Rochester. The project was selected as a winner because it is an affordable housing development that offers community support services and for its dedication to reducing greenhouse gases through the Green Bonds program.
At 143,000 square feet, Upper Falls Square brings quality affordable housing to Rochester’s Upper Falls neighborhood, while serving DePaul’s mission of improving people’s lives and their community ties by offering clean, safe homes, and an array of support services. It spans two city blocks and is one of the largest single developments ever undertaken by DePaul.
The Annual Reshaping Rochester Awards recognize exemplary projects and initiatives in the nine-county Finger Lakes region that make a positive impact on people, neighborhoods, and communities. SWBR joined DePaul and Christa Construction to accept the award at the Reshaping Rochester Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 14.
