Two of SWBR’s current projects were featured in DePaul’s spring newsletter.

The DePaul Carriage Factory renovation project is a five-story, 71-unit residential apartment building that will be a mix of affordable and mental health apartments for DePaul. Construction began on the building in April 2013. SWBR and its partners at Christa Construction are working to preserve much of the existing 73,000-square-foot building in an effort to transform the historic factory into a new, functional living space.

We're excited to announce the approval of the Kendall Central School District bond referendum and our new project with the District which includes new roofs on two buildings, energy efficient enhancements, heating and ventilation improvements, improve security measures, updates in code compliance, parking lots and sidewalks. In addition, we will be evaluating and redesigning the High School classrooms to outer walls to improve security and instructional space.

The Rochester Chapter of the American Institute of Architects recently announced their selection of winners for the 2013 Design Excellence and Honor Awards. SWBR Architects received recognition in the residential category for the DePaul Neighborhood of the Arts Apartments.

In celebration of Earth Day, and to bring awareness to the importance of green space in urban environments, SWBR joined forces to turn three city parking spaces on Gibbs Street into an urban park on Earth Day. SWBR Architects, Java’s Café, Broccolo Tree & Lawn Care, Batavia Turf Farm, the University of Rochester student organization Eastman for Earth, and The Eastman Office of Student Life organized a local Park(ing) Day Event on Earth Day.
