Riverside Apartments
DePaul

The design intent for the project was to keep as much of the original structure and interior walls as possible. The central auditorium and central circulation stairs that wind up all three levels serves as a central entrance focal point for residents. The double height second-level gym contains residential units, with the upper level space containing a dropped ceiling.  The central auditorium space serves as the new Resident Community Center for the project.  A new main entrance for the building was created off Troy Place which allows handicapped accessibility to the building into the main lobby with reception area and central elevators.

Carriage Factory Apartments
DePaul

This project is a special opportunity to memorialize the important manufacturing efforts that took place at the site for approximately 80 years. The James Cunningham name was revered all over the world as makers of high quality transportation vehicles from coaches and carriages to airplanes. The re-purposing of this building understands and respects the past, but also connects and is relevant to its future use. The design is a renovation of vacant 4-story, plus partial basement City of Rochester industrial building into 71 affordable and special needs apartment units in combinations of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom rental apartments.

Significantly placed in the prestigious East End District, City Grill is a welcomed addition that accommodates a restaurant/ bar and banquet hall facility. The intent was to create sophisticated spaces that are warm, inviting and upscale. The developer wanted synergy with the existiing adjacent 384 east avenue inn & suites. The 384 east avenue inn & suites and City Grill work in unison to creat an exciting and positive experience to all patrons and visitors. Operable glass walls and fire pits are a few of the unique amenities that set this establishment apart from the typical restaurant and bar scenes locally. These features take advantage of extending the indoor/outdoor experience in a challenging climate.

This new Liberal Arts Building is located between the existing academic and recreational cores of the campus and is adjacent to the Drake Memorial Library. This synergy with the library is reinforced with an enclosed bridge connection. Nestled behind an existing grove of mature trees, the building utilizes nature to provide summer time shade and reduced cooling loads.

The CAST Building was the first facility designed and built according to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System standards on the RIT Campus. The main cafeteria of the hospital had not been renovated for 40 years. The space was in need of a transformation in food, customer experience, lighting, space, and aesthetics in order to meet the demands of the hospital.
