SWBR Architects was the lead architect on a new building to house current and future town services, including assessment, building, finance, fire marshal, historian, IT, planning/zoning, supervisor and town clerk for the Town of Victor. The highway, courts, and parks and recreation departments will remain in their current locations.
Much attention has been paid to the design of the exterior of the building. All four elevations of the building are made of stone and brick, which are long-lasting materials and very appropriate for the Town of Victor. On the front of the building, the entrance has been signaled by a pediment at the roof. This is reminiscent of the old Malone building, which is familiar to many of the longtime residents. Along with the masonry materials, an abundant amount of windows are throughout the design to allow the residents to see their government at work and to also bring daylight into the building.
The design of the Victor Town Hall aims to incorporate as many sustainable features as the budget will allow. The project team used the U.S. Green Building Council LEED® rating system as a reference for incorporating green elements into the building.
