The design team of SWBR Architects and Burt Hill/Stantec was selected by Nazareth College to design the college's new math and science building. SWBR is the associate architect for the project and is responsible for designing and detailing the building exterior, providing structural engineering services and landscape architecture, and seeing the project through construction.
Burt Hill Architects is the architect of record, lab planner and mechanical/electrical engineer. Construction started in early 2011 and the new facility was completed in the fall of 2012.
This facility is the first academic building constructed on Nazareth’s campus in 30 years. To keep operational costs down, the math and science building has been designed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Silver rating. The five-story, 74,000-square-foot building represents a modern version of Collegiate Gothic style to complement the existing campus, including the adjacent Golisano Academic Center and Smyth Hall, which the building sits between.
