The Friendly Home is one of the oldest, most established nursing homes in Rochester. Facing competitive pressures, The Friendly Home was hampered by small double rooms in its existing home, and a lack of storage space. A new entrance addition created a welcoming first impression to the building.
After two years of construction, 42,500 new square feet of building additions, newly designed rooms (including spacious companion suites), a relocated Transitional Care Center and new Memory Care Center, The Friendly Home’s major addition and renovation project is complete.
Since breaking ground on this project in June of 2008, The Friendly Home has undergone a dramatic transformation in size and appearance, as well as in offerings of new amenities and enhanced services. “The new building represents the next chapter in our history, enabling The Friendly Home to best satisfy the needs and expectations of our members, which have changed and grown significantly over time,” said James E. Dewhirst, President and CEO.
