SWBR designed a new plant for Xerox, specifically to produce the latest generation of toner. The facility includes multiple integrated buildings supporting the toner production including an office, warehouse, truck bays, and loading docks. The largest portion of the facility is a process area that is, essentially, a 100’ high series of work platforms surrounding the various vessels involved in the wet production process.
In 2015 an 55, 000 GSF expansion was added to the existing emulsion aggregation toner plant, built in 2007, which increases the overall size of the building to 155,000 square feet.
The Webster facility is just the second EA Toner plant in the world. It produces a latex-based chemical toner from a wet process into a dry product that is protected by more than 300 patents and produces sharper images using less toner per page. The plant is energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
The new facility consists of more than 29 miles of pipe and more than 100 stainless steel tanks.
