DCS (Davis Carter Scott) was the design architect and the architect of record. SWBR was responsible for assisting them through the design phase, taking the lead on all neighborhood and city meetings and contracted to do all the Construction Administration for Buildings 3,6 (one story retail with two levels of office above) and Building 4 (parking structure). In addition to this, we were hired for structural engineering on Building 6 (a one-story retail space) and landscaping for the whole site.
The Collegetown project involves the redevelopment of a 14-acre site that fronts Mount Hope Avenue. Located on the eastern edge of the University of Rochester’s Medical campus, the mixed-use development serves as a gateway to the City and University, while strengthening the surrounding neighborhoods.
The five multi-story buildings include various mixes of retail, office, residential and hotel. The development also includes a parking structure with 1,525 spaces, 460 surface parking spaces and 100 underground parking spaces.
This development is a one-of-a-kind destination that contributes meaningfully to the Rochester experience.
